CJ제일제당은 국가적인 권위의 `다우존스 지속 가능 경영 지수`(Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes) 테스트에서 아시아·오세아니아 지역 604개 기업 중 상위 23%에 포함돼 DJSI 아시아·태평양 지수에 이름을 올렸다고 11일 밝혀졌다.

이후 신기술을 사용한 식품의 섭취 의향은 완전 영양식품(65.5%)과 식물성 대체 단백질 식품(63.7%)이 높고 곤충 단백질 식품(26.0%)이 낮았다. 이 결과를 토대로 대한민국소비자연맹은 축산물 대체식품에 대해 소비자의 올바른 선택을 위한 적합한 명칭 지정이 필요하다고 밝혀졌다.

다른 명칭으로는 대체 단백 식품(19.8%), 육류대체 단백질 식품(19.8%), 육류 대체식품(18.4%) 등이 직후따랐다. 특출나게 명칭에 ‘육이나‘고기를 이용하지 않아야 한다는 응답이 62.3%로, 소비자들이 인지하기 쉽고, 고기로 오인하지 않을 명칭이 필요하다고 봤다.
